Take Heart

Mark 5:34 ‘He (Jesus) said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

When was the last time you were so desperate for the compassionate touch of God? Did you push through the hindrances and distractions to fall before Jesus to be clothed by His healing compassion? Did you feel Him whisper, “Take heart, Daughter.” Those are such tender words of active compassion! We are His daughters. He is personal and more than willing to get involved in our harassed, helpless, messy lives. What have you held back from Jesus embarrassed or afraid it is too messy for His compassionate touch? When we surrender our mess to Him, He begins healing us. Whether it is sin, sickness or suffering, Jesus wants to hold us and whisper, “Take heart, daughter.”

How about those who have been healed, but are too afraid to get in anyone else’s messy life. What if God is calling you to pour out compassion? Can you refuse His call and harden your heart? Do you say, “It will hurt too much to get messy with them?” Let Him show you the blessing that comes from being His instrument of compassion to a messy life.

Today’s Prayer

Lord thank you so much for your compassion that reaches harassed and helpless women like me. Give me eyes to see and help the ones in the crowd of my life that are messy, hopeless, helpless, harassed and in great need of being clothed in your compassion.
