Richmond County Jail Ministry
Every
Sunday, from 2-3 p.m., men and women from various churches in the CSRA
go to the Walton Way and Phenizy Road facilities. Team members are
allowed to spend 1 hour in the cellblocks, and team members are
allowed to present the lesson they have prepared. Pray for this
ministry as it reaches out to those who have such a need for the Good
News of Jesus Christ. Each leader is free to develop their own lesson and present it. We are not allowed to pray with them individually or allow them to raise their hand. It is difficult to know who has prayed to receive Christ but God knows! To find out more about this ministry, contact the church office at 706-722-7348. Lower Savanah Jail Ministry The Lower Savannah Jail Ministry began in 1988 in a church building located on the Lower Savannah Work Release Center campus. In this ministry we conduct Sunday School and worship service. Sunday School begins at 9:30 every Sunday and we average 31 in attendance every week. The Lower Savannah Work Release Center is located on Wire Road in Aiken, SC. This is a minimal security, non-violent facility. The inmates are allowed to move up to work release status and hold jobs in the community. This facility houses men in dorms. For those to whom we minister, our goal is to teach them the word of God and help them go back into their community to live Godly lives. Pray for us as we continue to build bridges and relationships with the correctional officers, inmates, and their wives. Should you be interested in assisting in this ministry, please feel free to contact the church office at 706-722-7348 |
