How can I become a member of Curtis Baptist Church?

Here at Curtis we want to help people experience life to the fullest, and we believe that is only found in a relationship in Jesus Christ and joining with a faith family!

If you are interested in joining with us, please see one of our pastors or contact the church office to schedule a pastoral meeting.

We want to get to know you, hear your story, learn about God’s work in your life and how we might partner together for the sake of Christ’s kingdom. The members of the church reserve the right to determine who may join and the conditions of that membership. After the pastoral meeting, the pastors will determine if a membership recommendation to the church is in order. The following are ways for joining our faith family:

Here are a few options:

Profession of Faith
If you have never turned from your sin and self-reliance and trusted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord to restore you to God, you will be given an opportunity to respond in our worship or small group gatherings. Talk to a church leader, who will guide you in personally responding to this good news about Jesus.
Transfer From Another Church
If you have turned from your sin and self-reliance and trusted Jesus as Savior and Lord, have been scripturally baptized by immersion as a testimony of being in Christ, and have been in good standing as a member of another Southern Baptist Church, we will welcome you as a member with the promise of a letter from that church.

Baptism
Baptism is the public confession of the one who has turned from their sin and self-reliance and trusts in Jesus as Savior and Lord. It is also the affirmation by the church that the individual’s life demonstrates saving faith in Jesus. If you have trusted Christ but have never obeyed His command to be baptized, see one of our pastors.
Statement of Faith
If you have turned from your sin and self-reliance and trusted Jesus as Savior and Lord, have been scripturally baptized by immersion as a testimony of being in Christ, and have been in fellowship with other believers in another Bible-believing church of like faith and practice, then we will welcome you into your family of believers.
