Decrease to Increase

“Whoever therefore humbles himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew 18:4 (KJV)

I recently read a story about Hudson Taylor, a missionary who spent his life ministering to the people of China. Taylor was scheduled to speak at a large church in Melbourne, Australia. He was introduced in the most eloquent and glowing terms. After a listing of all of Taylor’s accomplishments in China, participants were asked to welcome “our illustrious guest.” Taylor stood quietly for a moment, and then opened his message by saying, “Dear friends, I am the little servant of an illustrious Master.”

Freedom in Forgiveness

I know that with working through forgiveness comes pain, unsettledness, and it can be a slow deliberate process. Getting to the root of unforgiveness in our hearts happens as we allow the Lord to do His work of healing in our lives. Walking daily in the forgiveness that we have received from God can give us the power to forgive others even for the deepest pain inflicted.

Forgiveness

Mark 11:25, “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

I was a young married woman when a woman who did not like me expressed it in her letters to me. The first letter I received put me in total shock and disbelief. I hardly knew her, had only been around her a few times, yet according to her letter, I had hurt and insulted her. Even after I wrote letters of sincere apology, she continued to accuse me.
